Old Flame is a little more brooding, as the tempo gradually increases. To Way Street is a sweet, slow buring love song, “but the moment you appear
, you wake me, wake me, wake me, out of the slumbers of my head
, from the slums of loneliness”. Settle Down and Cameo Lover are the albums best pop songs, as four slower tracks ensues. Settle Down is upbeat, layered with vocals and hand claps, incporating more sound through the chorus. “I wanna raise a child, Won’t you raise a child with me”. The album could be described as her love confessions. With Settle Down being the opener and the album title being Vows, you could assume that the 21 year old is ready to get hitched. With her debut album Vows, the Kiwi singer-songwriter is well on her way to establashing a passionate fan base and garnering critical acclaim. She’s been touted as the next big thing in music for years, performing the national anthem in front of thousands from as young as 12 for a rugby final, Kimbra has achieved commercial success with Miami Horror’s, I Look to You and more recently topping the Aussie charts with Gotye’s Somebody I used to Know.
